I don't follow which films win awards, that's not the point of filmmaking. Awards aside, this film restored my faith in modern day cinema. A perfect picture in every way. The best I've seen in some time! Thank you to all those who made it possible.

The title & cover didn't seem very interesting, so left it until the last day before it was due, to watch it. I found it to be very entertaining, interesting and educational as well. The characters are depicted very well. I am glad I watched it!!

I went from watching Viggo Mortensen in Captain Fantastic to watching him in Green Book. They are two very different roles, but he's great in both of them. This movie is so worth watching and I highly recommend it. Captain Fantastic as well! I also loved him in The Road.

In the tradition of "Oscar" best picture winners this one is a fat wad of twee twaddle. In between the dime-store philosophizing , ole' Viggo does a super lame job interpreting a dopey Eye Talian. Three scenes defy the impression that racial inequality has improved since the early sixties. They are:

1. The Shirley character is bribed out of a homosexual encounter at a YMCA.

2. Viggo socks a cop and no retribution is taken.

3. A quick phone call to Bobby K. springs Don-boy and Tony from the slammer.

I started watching this late at night several times & fell asleep. I figured it was one of many overrated movies that don't impress me. Then I watched it early on the day it was due at the library. I'm glad I gave it another chance ... excellent movie. All the characters were interesting & it was just funny enough to be amusing & dramatic enough to be exciting. Nice to have an uplifting ending. I definitely recommend Green Book.

Excellent excellent movie. Should be required watch for everyone over 14. If there wasn’t some strong language I would recommend for all audiences. Story, writing, actors, everything superb. Highly entertaining and I agree with all other 5 star comments written. More movies like this please! Makes you have hope for mankind and humanity by the end.

I loved the entire movie, especially because it is a true story. Also because Viggo Mortensen
made you believe that he was that character. The entire cast was just perfect and believable.
The fact that Viggo did not win an academy award shows that the Awards are a joke. This
movie will put a smile on your face long after you see it.

This quote (in IMDb) turns the direction of the film to be an inspirational comedy:

Tony Lip: You know, when you first hired me, my wife went out and bought one of your records. The one about the orphans?

Dr. Don Shirley: Orphans?

Tony Lip: Yeah. Cover had a bunch of kids sittin' around a campfire?

Dr. Don Shirley: Orpheus.

Tony Lip: ...Yeah.

Dr. Don Shirley: Orpheus in the Underworld. It's based on a French opera. And those weren't children on the cover, those were demons in the bowels of Hell.

Tony Lip: No shxt! They must've been naughty kids!
