If you don't know Christine Riccio is well known Booktuber on Youtube best known for her eccentric and loud personality. This is her debut novel and I've have to say it was okay.

It definitely fit in with the rest of the YA Contemporary over the last 5 years and the first half of the book is Anna and the French Kiss, just college edition. That includes the male love interest with the "unique name" and already has a girl friend. This is my least favourite trope and the book really didn't need it.

If you don't know this book is about Shane, and if you follow Christine's channel you know right away, it's Christine with just a couple of tweaks. Anyway, Shane is off to do a study writing abroad in England but her parents actually think she's there to do PreMed Program.

She gets there, she makes friends, she meets the love interest and trounces around Europe and then you know her parents finds out and drama ensues.

I want to point out that Shane's dad is emotionally abusive and it's never address at the end, and her mom is does absolutely nothing because she wants Shane to have the Doctor Life she couldn't have.

Now, there is some pluses, there is a twist about 3 quarters of the way through and I think that's where of the book is the most interesting but I won't spoil anything.

Overall, if you liked Anna and the French Kiss you will probably like this, if you didn't you could probably pass. It's a light contemporary read, nothing less, nothing more.
