This is the third installment in the "Anne" series, and though it does speed rather fast through her four college years, it remains a great favourite. Anne is studying for a BA, Diana is engaged to Fred Wright, and Mrs Lynde is moving in to Green Gables. You will soon find Anne building new friendships and settling into the college life. However, we've all been waiting for the romance (especially after that delicate little paragraph at the end of "Anne of Avonlea") and our expectations are fully fulfilled with the arrival of a homely preacher, a goggly-eyed Sloane, a dark-eyed ideal, and an old school chum. Besides that, there are laughs, tears, and delightful, witty snippets and quotes. You tend to enjoy it more as an adult than as a child. Five moody, singed-colour cats out of five.
