I have read a few James Grippando books, but this is my first Jack Swyteck novel. Even though this is book 12 in the series, this book works as a stand alone. I did not feel like I was missing any background info. The missing troubled teen is so hateful, I didn't really care if she was dead or alive. The mystery surrounding her disappearance and who was responsible is what kept me interested. Written in a fast paced, engaging style that keeps the pages turning.
