I might give it a star - no more. Stone is an interesting sophisticated older man type action hero. That translates to no physical action except sex which he apparently has the stamina for of a younger action hero. Most of the action (except in bed) revolves around spending money of which he has a lot apparently. This particular shallow novel (written in this year - 2017) seems to have as it's central goal the trashing of President Donald Trump. It's obvious that Woods is a staunch Democrat and has drunk the cool aid with the worst of them. The character who is the central antagonist is an eccentric billionaire business man and T.V. personality (with an attractive but vacuous younger wife) who is running for president on the Republican side. There is supposedly documented material which exposes his having fathered a couple of children with 2 attractive black employees whom he sexually harassed and then raped 12 and 17 years ago. The female Democrat the billionaire is going to run against is the wife of a popular former Democrat president who is a good friend of Stone Barrington. Barrington and the former president work to protect the documentation of the rapes which is being sought by a private security force financed by various super wealthy Republicans. The billionaire (or the head of his campaign) has several people including one of the women and her child killed and is looking for the other woman and her family who are being protected by the noble Democrat Stone Barrington. Get the picture? Whatever you political persuasion - this is absolutely shameful on the part of the hyper liberal author Stuart Woods. Even as a Democrat - I'd never read another of his books.
