This was an entertaining series that starts out about a young couple and you find out soon enough that it is also about their adult children and their separate life experiences. It moves back and forth in time with the greatest of ease. The writing is good, the soundtrack is good, there are two professional singers in the cast (Chrissy Metz and Mandy Moore) and it was fun to hear them sing. It is fun to see the adult children as their child selves and see the family back story played out. I also appreciate that it isn't mean spirited and takes on issues of racism, sexism, obesity without a laugh track. I recommend it for anyone who likes human interest stories and family dramas. I look forward to a second season.
