A matter-of-fact yet interesting read aloud that highlights how humans are alike yet different, each having unique qualities. Evidence is explained and illustrated in ways children can relate -- through references to appearance, feelings, homes and beliefs. The well-illustrated pictures do a very good job of reflecting the diversity of the book's message. This book could provide a thoughtful introduction to a social studies unit such as communities of the world.
