Life imitating art. A gifted savant with a probable IQ hovering around 200 wonders why conventional life in Amerrika circa 1940's does not feel comfortable to him. In the dark ages of WW2, he puts his own life in jeopardy for the greater good of mankind...to stop the possibility of Nazi Germany developing the atomic bomb before America. Rudd turns in a masterful performance of a real life Enigma operating on a different level than us mere mortals. I don't think that I have ever viewed a superior Film than this one that can only be described as a "thinking man's" film. For his service to the USA he was offered the Medal of Freedom---which he refused to accept. It is shameful that this film has not been embraced by a nation who gained so much from the actions of a single brave man.
