International Women's Day Recommendations for Teens

San Mateo County Libraries wishes a happy and empowering International Women’s Day to all! The theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is ‘Accelerate Action’ to achieve gender equality. The United Nations furthers this call to action with their theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” They encourage all women, but particularly young women and girls, to take on roles as catalysts for lasting change. We’re excited to share this book list, featuring tips for getting involved in movements for change, and both fictional and true stories of women and girls who have stood up to make a difference in the world.
