A long, but good read of events occurring in November 1942, the war is turning " this is the end of the beginning" to quote Churchill...all this is related by approximately 40 characters, all real, ranging from a German solider at Stalingrad, to an American house wife pissed off at gas rationing. Others included soldiers on Guadalcanal, the turning point in the battle of the Pacific against the Japanese.
Long, but you can skim it. Probably only for history buffs of WWII.A long, but good read of events occurring in November 1942, the war is turning " this is the end of the beginning" to quote Churchill...all this is related by approximately 40 characters, all real, ranging from a German solider at Stalingrad, to an…

Save this dog for next summer when you're trapped on a jet, or bored on a beach.
Quit half way thru, good junior high writing, every chapter a cliffhanger.

This book is pretty much for the golfers out there who care about the game.
Love the quote on the back cover"...understand about professional golfers is that they are all whores. That is the starting point."
Starts with LIV flooding golf world with a billion dollars, offering large amounts to a select few, and casting their net for the smaller fries...If you are a thirty year plus veteran with 3 career wins, the writing is on the wall...You are not going to improve and you can't compete with the 22 year old group who are much better than you. Sure you take the 10 to 30 million dollars and breath, now that you can put your kids thru college and have some money for your old age, which in pro golf is rapidly approaching.
This book shows the going ons of the LIV group, the animosity between the the 2 tours, and shows how the PGA Tour sold out to the Saudi group with out meeting with any player group that had any power to dispute the agreement...
So, its everything you wanted to know about the whole can of worms, plus shows how the PGA tour became one of the richest group in America, squeezed sponsors for ever more more money,(Honda, AT&T, Farmers Insurance, to name just a few)
If your a business man curious about this can of worms came about, read and "follow the money"...
Well enjoy...This book is pretty much for the golfers out there who care about the game.

This is a great little read! What an unusual idea for a novel! Felt badly for the lion, he administered justice and you know how it will end...only one way...
Read this, spend the 3 hours it takes to finish this little classic.

Ok read, never a dull minute, reads almost like weekly serial, every chapter a cliff hanger.
Good sense of locations, the Paris locations I hung out in ...nostalgic...

First read this book years ago. Good re-read...exciting , I like alternate history reads...pretty close to what world would be like if Germany won the war. From hiding killing camps to the never ending war in Russia, and the detente with USA.

What a story! What dedication to the Japanese way of life, after 2 decades his belief that the war is still raging is reinforced by seeing American warplanes going to Korea and then by seeing them going to Vietnam. Wish a little more was told of his life after the jungle.

Good to learn about America's philosophy of bombing. I always thought the Norden bomb site was the greatest thing since sliced bread. looked good on paper, but we are not fighting on paper.
Always thought Curtis LeMay was a mad bomber, but his tactics of firebombing did shorten the war, and prevented the invasion of Japan, which would have been bloodbath, and the war probably would have gone on until 1950, ending with the division of Japan ala Korea. Good read/...Good to learn about America's philosophy of bombing. OMG--- as my old college literature professor used to say "strong meat", meaning a read not for the faint of heart, or those with weak stomachs.
This book is one the most exciting, violent, and thrilling book I've read since the authors first. And I cannot recommend it enough. S A Cosby is an overnight sensation that has been writing for years. His tomes cover all bases, the deeply ingrained racism of the South, homophobia that still exists in our society. A great exciting read. Big waiting list, but get in line and read it.OMG--- as my old college literature professor used to say "strong meat", meaning a read not for the faint of heart, or those with weak stomachs.

What a good read! Got off on the technical stuff, and the premise that the earth is dying and science must come to the rescue, irregardless of nationalism.
Quite a surprise when the alien life form is detected and cooperation is achieved.

Sorry to say, pretty much a rehash of his other books.
Nothing really new, alliteration is a bit tiresome, ala Confidental Magazine popular in late 50s and early 60s. Shame, I think his American Tabloid is a masterpiece.
